In the Summer of 2013, the European Innovation Academy hosted an interdisciplinary group of UC Berkeley students alongside 200 international students from over 40 countries. The students formed teams, generated ideas, and launched their own companies within 4 weeks. At the end of the program, 4 of the top 5 startups were UC Berkeley projects, including 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.
Following the trip, Ken Singer, Managing Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology (CET | cet.berkeley.edu), worked with his top students to form a student organization called the Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology Student Association (CETSA).
CETSA connects ambitious students with the resources they need to form teams and launch their own companies. What makes us unique from other student entrepreneurship groups is that we’ve actually started businesses, and we continue to refine our projects and build new companies.
We also partner with local technology companies and startups to help qualified students find internships and employment opportunities. Though we are a multidisciplinary group composed of undergraduate and graduate students, we all share one thing in common: the ambition to succeed and the willingness to learn.
We hope to hear from you soon at cetsa@berkeley.edu.
